I’m a little bit bored so I decided to do this meme.

Your result for The Sorting Hat Test...
Slytherin
You scored 13% Order/Chaos, and 35% Moral/Rational

Chaotic Rationality. You don't think much of rules and restrictions; you look at things from an analytical perspective and probably think morality is relative to some extent. Your strength lies in being able to make your own judgments and form your own strategies uninhibited by others; your weakness lies in the wariness other people may have of you, perceiving you as dangerous.
You join people like Theodore Nott, Severus Snape, and Horace Slughorn.
The 4-grid I used to determine this is as follows:

I loved Pullman's "His Dark Materials". O.K. "Lyra's Oxford" was a bit of a letdown. But, so what? All in all, Lyra's world is beautiful. Those are the books that will stay with you forever.
Needless to say, I was excited about the movie coming out. Today, I've ( finally ) managed to find time to go and see the movie. Now, I wish I hadn't. I should have stayed at home. It was baaad. It was worst then bad. It's one of those awful films where directors try to make everybody happy. It's never works. But still they try. Result is something neither god nor bad. It's just tasteless. It has no flavor. In order not to offend anybody, deep ideas from the book (God, The Authority, Magisterium, nature of Dust...) got cut from the movie.
So only memorable thing left?
Yeah, the bear fight.
*headdesk*
Who needs higher ideas when you have Nicole Kidman in that gold dress and CGI bear?
*barf*
And what's with the end anyway? End comes rather abruptly with a "to be continued" cliffhanger. Yes, we know there are going to be two more parts after this, but that doesn't mean ; "cut the last three chapters of the book from the movie, so you have bigger cliffhanger".
*sighs*
I'm not waiting for the next one, thats for sure.
Note to self: You should stop watching movies made from books. They just make you mental.
Btw. I've found on The Golden Compass official site ( http://www.goldencompassmovie.com ) "meet your daemon" test.
It's fun!

You contribute to the smart people of today's society, however you can probably be overly-critical of works. | |
